Tyler Stableford told me about a 17-year old photographer who had great talent and potential named Adam Brobjorg. So, I did some research on him and decided he was worth an interview. It will go live on the 24th of November. However, what really struck me about Adam was what he had accomplished with almost NO equipment, being part of a family that was going through some trouble, etc. What would he be able to accomplish IF he had some additional equipment? Well, Tyler thought the same thing and financed a Canon 5D Mark II for Adam. Darrell Gulin had stepped up to the plate and taken him under his wing as well. Both Tyler and Darrell are Canon Explorers of Light.
I decided I would like to help as well, so I created a contest for Adam where he will have the chance to win prizes IF he can get 500 people to make a comment on his podcast! They have to be REAL comments, and I will be moderating them so that they are not spam. What does he win if he gets to 500 comments? Well, that’s up to all of us in this photographic community. Let’s face it, if you are a company, then maybe you can afford to donate some software. If you manufacture hardware, maybe a piece that he can use. If you are a photographer? Well, we ALL have something that we’re not using anymore that could be donated to help this young man. I’ve added something of mine into the mix to give him as well.
So, I’m asking for your participation - what can you donate for this contest? Those who come up with something, will be part of a large write-up about it on the blog. Plus, I’ll put the word out through social media, etc. Either way, I think this is a worthy cause. Take a look at Adam’s work on his website. You can also view the video I’ve put together of some of his images with his voice-over by clicking here, and finally, listen to his full interview. He was nervous, but did a pretty good job.
It’s inspiring to me to see young people this focused and I hope you’ll feel the same. If you’re interested in participating, please email [email protected].

Adam is not only an incredible artist and a well-rounded artistic person, he is an incredible human being. he has very clear points of view on what he sees and has a very peaceful personality. Hey Adam, great stuff at YoungArts. I loved your shots from the week itself - how you got surprisingly good shots using objects as mundane as thrown hair.
Your work at YoungArts was awesome!

I never knew photography could be so artistic!
So spooky! I don’t know much about photography, but these are really disconcerting, in the best way possible.

Adam, you’re doing great. There are so many comments. Good luck in the contest. Hope you me make me have to pay up!
I’ll post these requests to my social buddies too.
To be honest, I got a message to check this kid out. I was expecting some interesting pictures. By the end I realized what is unfolding before me, and that is the work of an exceptional artist- who is fortunate to be so young and to have a unique eye and imagination already recognized.
Every piece was more exciting to me than the next and I'd happily own any one of his works.
Bravo, young man.
Love the surreal images! Keep pushing the boundaries, and step further outside of the mundane and into your complete self expression. I can see your personality shine in those, while you composition and eye shine through in the others.
Some fabulous pictures, especially the ones from Nepal.
As a 17 year old myself, it is amazing what you have accomplished. Good luck!
The skills this young guy has are absolutely amazing and breathtaking. He has been able to accomplish a skill that others would only hope to achieve. He is an awesome photographer!!!
Your photography is amazing, good luck in all you do.
love it
Naturescape photo 10/20—with the depth between the birds in the foreground and background, with the horizontal lines juxtaposed with the rightmost mountain—I find the most striking.
